Shape and lead our Cyber Security Practice.
Our Cyber Security Practice Lead is a strategic and delivery-focused leadership role, responsible for building, shaping and leading Pulsar’s Cyber Security Practice. Working as a peer to the Risk Practice Lead and alongside Pulsar’s other Practice Leads, you’ll head up a practice aligned to ServiceNow’s security portfolio, including Agentic Incident Response, Unified Exposure Management, Identity & Access Security, Continuous Vulnerability Detection, Cyber Risk and Compliance, and Cyber Physical Systems Security. These are delivered on ServiceNow and integrated tooling such as Veza and Armis. The role blends cyber security expertise and consulting excellence with hands-on delivery leadership. You’ll be the senior engagement lead on major cyber programmes, define and deliver the practice strategy, lead pre-sales and business development, and grow a high-performing cyber team. Through mentoring, governance, quality assurance and innovation, you’ll make sure the practice consistently delivers exceptional security outcomes for clients across the UK, South Africa and other regions.
What you'll do
- Build, lead, and mature the Cyber Security Practice aligned with Pulsar’s strategy, objectives and our Pulsar values. This includes building cyber security capability within Pulsar.
- Develop and execute the practice roadmap across ServiceNow’s six security solution areas, defining service offerings, packaged propositions, frameworks, and innovation initiatives for each.
- Working with the Head of Delivery, maintain high-quality delivery standards, best practices, and technical governance across all cyber engagements.
- Build strong relationships with ServiceNow and its security ecosystem, including Veza and Armis, maintaining alignment with product roadmaps, advancing partner tier and security specialisations, and engaging with ServiceNow security account, product, and solution consulting teams.
- Stay current with ServiceNow Security Operations releases and the evolving threat landscape, embedding Now Assist, agentic AI, and AI-led capabilities into the practice’s offerings and delivery methodology.
- Build and maintain a library of reusable cyber assets (accelerators, reference architectures, integration patterns for SIEM, EDR, scanning, identity and asset sources, response playbooks, delivery templates, and lessons learned) so each engagement benefits from prior work.
- Work closely with the Risk Practice Lead on joined-up propositions where cyber and risk meet, particularly Cyber Risk and Compliance, third-party risk, and operational resilience, ensuring a clear and consistent client offer.
- Collaborate with the other Practice Leads on shared offerings, joint pursuits, and consistent delivery standards across Pulsar’s practices.
- Provide independent delivery assurance and quality reviews on engagements led by others in the practice, safeguarding consistent standards across the portfolio.
- Work closely with the dedicated Sales Account Director and assist with any client proposals with a shared goal and understanding of completing projects to the highest standard.
- Liaise with the CTO on cyber proposition development, and how to continue evolving and innovating within the practice.
- Have a commercial understanding and responsibility for the practice’s commercial performance, including revenue, margin, and utilisation targets.
- Support decisions on pricing, resourcing, and investment that balance growth, profitability, and delivery quality using commercial acumen.
- Act as the senior engagement lead for key cyber client projects, ensuring successful end-to-end delivery across security incident response, vulnerability and exposure management, identity security, configuration compliance, and cyber-physical (OT/IoT) asset security.
- Oversee solution architecture, delivery planning, risk management, and quality assurance for complex ServiceNow Security Operations implementations and integrations with Veza, Armis, and the client’s wider security tooling.
- Provide expert guidance and thought leadership to CISOs and security leadership on security operations strategy, exposure reduction, identity governance, and cyber regulatory obligations such as DORA and NIS2.
- Translate technical security data into risk-based, business-relevant outcomes, connecting live security posture to cyber risk and compliance reporting.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining a strong CSAT.
- Partner with Sales to grow existing client accounts, identifying expansion opportunities, shaping follow-on work, and acting as the senior practice contact for key cyber relationships.
- Lead the development of cyber proposals, solution outlines, demonstrations, and Statements of Work.
- Participate in client pitching, discovery sessions, security maturity assessments, and scoping workshops.
- Shape joint go-to-market activity with ServiceNow, Veza, and Armis account teams to build a qualified cyber pipeline.
- Plan for delivery demand based on pipeline; identify cyber capability gaps and resourcing needs proactively.
- Oversee resource allocation to ensure optimal utilisation and effective deployment of technical resources.
- Manage capacity planning, ensuring readiness to support delivery and growth objectives.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of security consultants, architects, and developers supporting the practice’s delivery commitments.
- Establish a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and peer review within the practice.
- Drive recruitment, onboarding, career development, and talent management for practice members, and take ownership of forecasting for future resourcing requirements based on projects and total headcount.
- Perform quality reviews, provide technical oversight, and drive ServiceNow security and industry certification plans across the team.
- Represent the practice externally, speaking at events (e.g. World Forum, Knowledge, and industry security events), contributing to webinars, whitepapers, and social channels to build Pulsar’s cyber profile in the market.
- Report on the practice to the CCO on a regular cadence, covering pipeline, delivery, people, and financial performance in a single view.
What we're looking for

- Hands-on familiarity with cyber tooling, including ServiceNow Security Operations (e.g. Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, Configuration Compliance), Veza, and Armis, and their integration with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning, and identity platforms.
- Proven experience leading cyber security or technology consulting practices or delivery teams, ideally within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up consulting environment.
- Strong background in both consulting and hands-on technical delivery.
- Experience as an engagement lead or delivery lead on large-scale cyber or ServiceNow programmes, ideally within financial services, energy, or utilities.
- Working knowledge of security frameworks and regulation such as NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK, DORA, and NIS2.
- Comfortable working towards targets, with a commercial mindset and understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to build, mature, and scale a technical capability or Centre of Excellence.
- Strong understanding of security architecture, implementation methodologies, and technical governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills, with credibility at CISO and senior security leadership level.
- Experience with pre-sales, solutioning, and client-facing consulting activities.
